Hazel Murrin
Jewellery Designer
I studied at Grays School of Art in Aberdeen, Scotland, graduating with a BA(hons) in Design & Craft in 2002.
Starting out as a textile designer, my work involved natural fibres and creating organic dyes. I evolved into working with natural gemstones and using recycled metals and in 2004 Hazey Designs was launched. I have been designing and creating jewellery ever since.
Originally from the west coast near Glasgow, I now spend my time between Sutherland in the Scottish Highlands and the countryside of the north-east, near the city of Aberdeen.
My work is deeply connected to the Scottish landscape with the shifting colours of the sea, the rugged moutains and ever-changing light inspiring colour and form.
Working with a combination of metals, from filled gold, recycled sterling silver and fine silver, I want each piece of jewellery to be organically shaped and tactile.
