Hazel Murrin
Jewellery Designer
I studied at Grays School of Art in Aberdeen, Scotland, graduating with a BA(hons) in Design & Craft in 2002.
Starting out as a textile designer, my work involved natural fibres and creating organic dyes. I evolved into working with natural gemstones and using recycled metals and in 2004 Hazey Designs was launched. I have been designing and creating jewellery ever since.
Originally from the west coast near Glasgow, I now spend my time between Sutherland in the Scottish Highlands and the countryside of the north-east, near the city of Aberdeen.
As a designer, I have always taken inspiration from the environment and landscape around me. The natural colours and textures of the gemstones which I source from around the world inspire my creativity.
I like to work with a combination of metals in creating my jewellery - filled gold, sterling and fine silver. Using recycled metal wherever I can.
